One thing UAE subscribers should know up front: the UAE’s National Media Council classifies all streaming content, and Disney+ in the region applies its standard editorial cuts to certain Star tile titles to comply — some scenes from The Bear, Alien: Earth, Daredevil and The Punisher may be edited or rated 18+ behind a PIN. Marvel has rated this Disney+ series 18+ globally, the closest thing to the Netflix-era tone fans have been asking for. Universally regarded as the most adult Star Wars project to date and the only one currently in serious awards conversation. Lands largely uncut for UAE viewers.

Noah Hawley sets the franchise on Earth two years before Ridley Scott’s 1979 original, in a near-future ruled by mega-corporations. Sydney Chandler leads. Eight episodes on the Star tile. The most singular sci-fi swing on Disney+ UAE in 2026. Expect editorial review of certain scenes for the UAE rating but the core series should arrive intact.

Margaret Atwood’s sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale, finally adapted, set 15 years after the close of the original series. Ann Dowd reprises Aunt Lydia. Pitched as Gilead’s ending. Disney+ UAE pricing has stabilised on a two-tier model since the direct service launched. The current pricing:

• Standard: AED 34.99/month or AED 349.99/year. Two concurrent streams, Full HD, 5.1 audio.
• Premium: AED 44.99/month or AED 449.99/year. Four concurrent streams, 4K UHD, Dolby Atmos, downloads.

An ad-supported tier has not yet launched in the UAE as of April 2026. The annual plan saves you about AED 80 if you commit. For a 2026 lineup leaning on cinematic prestige drama (Andor, Alien: Earth, Daredevil, The Bear), Premium is defensible if your TV setup supports 4K and Dolby Atmos — the Star tile content in particular is finished in 4K.
